Black Friday external hard drive deals are ideal when you're looking to increase storage without draining the bank just before the holidays. Some of the best external hard drives on the market have been heavily discounted for Black Friday in the past, so it's not like your bargain bin shopping - there will likely be some premium options on this list at a fraction of their normal prices.

One likely scenario is that you've bought something from our best gaming PC or best gaming laptop lists, only to find that you're running out of space after you've installed a few games. It's true, hard drive space has not grown proportionally with the size of games these days, but the time is near for big savings on external HDDs from trusted brands like WD, SanDisk, and Seagate, just to name a few.

Amazon is perhaps the best place to find the best Black Friday external hard drive deals. At the most normal of times, the world's largest online retailer offers some of the deepest discounts on all major brands. It's worth reiterating, however, that the big-box storefronts should have their fair share of savings on the day, too.

Black Friday will be November 26 this year, but it's more likely that the deals will begin towards the beginning of that week - easily, given the trends from previous years. No matter when they start exactly - be on guard from mid-October to be safe - Black Friday external hard drive deals tend to hang around longer than most Black Friday tech items, especially from the larger retailers, as there always seems to be enormous numbers of them and of stock.

Should I wait for the Black Friday external hard drive deals?

Given that we're now racing our way through October, we'd be extremely surprised if any deal right now, or in the next couple of weeks, at least, was better than those that will come when the Black Friday external hard drive deals start properly.
